No permit is generally required for a one-story detached storage building without a concrete foundation up to 120 square feet; fences under 7 feet (a no-charge Fence Affidavit is required); non-foundation sidewalks, patios, and driveways; painting, papering, tiling, carpeting, cabinets, countertops, and similar finish work; and prefabricated pools under 24 inches deep. Re-roofing without sheathing, rafter, or support-beam replacement is also exempt. Agricultural structures exclusively used for agriculture on qualifying properties of at least 5 acres may be exempt after zoning review and evidence of agricultural use.
