Regulatory framework
The code baseline for Barron County.
Barron County Chapter 17 Land Use Ordinance, including zoning, shoreland, shoreland-wetland, floodplain, land-division, and private-sewage provisions, governs land-use permits in participating unincorporated areas. County permits are required before construction, moving, or structural alteration of homes, garages, sheds, decks, fences, stairways, boathouse storage structures, signs, and antennas, and a sanitary permit must precede a dwelling land-use permit. Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code SPS 320-325 permits and inspections are separately administered by each township's contracted UDC inspector; commercial building review and inspection are referred to Wisconsin DSPS where no certified municipal program applies.
