Minor-work playbook

Understand what may be exempt—and what is not.

State Fire Marshal plan review is limited to listed project classes: government-owned or leased buildings, schools, public-access buildings over 5,000 square feet, child-care centers for more than ten children, multistory buildings, assembly occupancies, qualifying alterations or changes of occupancy, fire-protection systems, alternative-energy installations, certain tanks and dispensing facilities, commercial kitchen hoods, spray finishing, and RV/camp/mobile-home park site plans.
