Regulatory framework
The code baseline for Boone County.
Boone County's countywide permit program enforces its Floodplain Ordinance and determines whether proposed development is in a flood hazard area; development in a Special Flood Hazard Area must comply with the ordinance's elevation, floodproofing, anchoring, utilities, drainage, fill, site-plan, and certificate requirements. The county does not publish adoption or enforcement of a general structural, residential, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or energy code for unincorporated areas. Other applicable West Virginia state permits and codes remain separate and must be supplied before county approval when required.
