Regulatory framework
The code baseline for Palo Pinto County.
Palo Pinto County flood-damage-prevention ordinance and FEMA/NFIP standards for special flood hazard areas; Palo Pinto County Subdivision Regulations approved September 26, 2014 and amended thereafter; minimum infrastructure standards for manufactured-home rental communities; county OSSF requirements and 30 TAC Chapter 285. No general structural building-code edition or county zoning code was published for ordinary unincorporated construction in 2026.
Inspection lane
Submit the four-page floodplain application to Emergency Management. If the site is in a special flood hazard area, provide every item checked by the administrator, potentially including a site plan, scaled development plans, floodproofing certification, hydraulic calculations, and a professional no-rise certification for floodway work. County compliance inspections and a surveyor- or engineer-completed as-built elevation certificate precede the Certificate of Compliance; development may not be occupied before that certificate. For septic work, submit the county OSSF application, planning materials, site evaluation, and fee to Public Works, obtain authorization before construction, and arrange inspection at 940-659-1240 or 940-329-3136.
