Regulatory framework
The code baseline for Mason County.
Mason County administers a county development/floodplain permit for residential and nonresidential new construction, substantial improvements, houses, mobile homes, commercial work, fill, and alteration of waterways or drainage courses. It enforces its floodplain regulations and NFIP requirements, county subdivision regulations, and an authorized-agent OSSF program under Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 366 and 30 TAC Chapter 285. The county OSSF rule is stricter than the state acreage exception: every new OSSF must be permitted regardless of tract size. No countywide ICC structural building-code edition or general trade-permit code was found.
