Regulatory framework
The code baseline for Knox County.
Knox County does not appear as a local OSSF authorized agent in the latest TCEQ reporting data, so TCEQ Region 3 administers septic permits under Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 366 and 30 TAC Chapter 285. The county's current official website publishes no general building-permit or inspection department, floodplain permit program, adopted ICC code edition, zoning ordinance, or certificate-of-occupancy process for unincorporated areas. The current Texas Floodplain Administrator directory lists Knox City but not Knox County, so incorporated municipalities should be contacted for their own building and floodplain requirements.
