Davidson County Inspections is authorized to enforce the North Carolina State Building Code and reviews/ issues building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, modular, manufactured-home, demolition, sign, renovation, and swimming-pool permits. It also enforces the County Floodplain Ordinance and applicable North Carolina Building and Technical Codes.

Apply and request inspections through the Davidson County OpenGov portal, or contact Central Permitting at 336-242-2230. Next-day inspection requests are accepted from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The residential packet states that the applicant is responsible for obtaining all final inspections; required inspections may include footings, foundation, framing, trade rough-ins, insulation, and final approval. Only the permit holder or an authorized representative may schedule inspections.
