Regulatory framework
The code baseline for Laurel County.
The current local building page directs projects to the City of London Building Division, and the current DHBC county assignment lists London’s local building inspector with Dillon Fields as state building inspector. Kentucky’s current statewide framework is the 2018 Kentucky Building Code and 2018 Kentucky Residential Code, based on the 2015 IBC/IRC with Kentucky amendments. No newer 2026 KBC or KRC adoption was verified.
