The applicable Kentucky framework is the 2018 Kentucky Building Code, Fourth Edition, and 2018 Kentucky Residential Code, Third Edition, based on the 2015 IBC and IRC with Kentucky amendments; related statewide standards include the applicable mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire, energy, and accessibility codes. DHBC announced July 2026 NEC updates, but no new 2026 KBC or KRC adoption was verified. The current assignment lists Wes Finley for City of Albany local building inspections and Dale Henderson for state building jurisdiction.
