The code baseline for Broomfield County.
As of 2026, Broomfield enforces the 2024 International Building, Residential, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fuel Gas, Existing Building, Fire, and Swimming Pool and Spa code series, the 2023 National Electrical Code, and the Colorado Low Energy Carbon Code under Ordinance 2295 effective April 15, 2026. The City and County states it will begin enforcing the 2026 NEC on August 1, 2026 based on Colorado State Electrical Board adoption.

Homeowners call (303) 438-6376, option 1, using the numeric permit number and three-digit inspection code; contractors can schedule through the Citizen Access portal after an account is established. Requests must be received before 11:00 p.m. the day before; next-day availability is not guaranteed. Inspection times cannot be guaranteed; the Daily Inspection List is available online. A $150 reinspection fee may apply when an inspection is not ready or is canceled after 8:30 a.m. the same day.
