Regulatory framework
The code baseline for Drew County.
Monticello’s Chapter 7, Article VI adopts the 2011 Arkansas Energy Code for new construction. The official building application requires compliance certifications for Arkansas Energy, State Fire Prevention, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and ADEQ requirements; the reviewed local materials do not publish a complete current edition list for every discipline.
Inspection lane
Submit the Building Permit Application and plans for City Inspector review and site inspection. After issuance, the permit holder or agent must notify the Building Official when work is ready, provide access, and keep covered work exposed until inspection. Published stages include footing/foundation, slab or underfloor, floodplain elevation when applicable, framing/masonry, fire-resistance, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, roofing, and final inspections; an occupancy permit is issued only after required inspections pass.
